This behaviour is characterised by the maintenance of a clear mind and the ability to regulate one’s own thoughts, feelings and actions under conditions of emotional excitation or depression, intensive stress, fatigue, the appearance of unexpected obstacles, failure, and the influence of other unfavourable factors
Mastering composure and self-control under stressful conditions is an integral part of mental toughness. We take you through the process of developing emotional intelligence, which is essential for performance and wellbeing in both work and other environments.
We concentrate on helping you understand emotional control and what effect your emotional state can have on your own physiology and for other’s around you. Through practical exercises and activities, we help you learn and understand a variety of ways that you can take control of how you experience different emotional states, remain calm and collected under pressure, recognise when challenging emotions are affecting your mental state and how to develop your emotional intelligence.
By developing your Self-Control and Composure you are able to:
- Perform well under pressure and in intense situations and better overcome obstacles
- Understand your own emotional journey and the factors that affect your mental state throughout the day
- Retain the ability to think clearly and make better decisions despite adverse emotional states
- Better understand how your actions and emotional states affect those around you
